A 2 feet, 61cm narrow gauge railway running into the grounds of Kirkstall Abbey. Built and run by the proprietor it is an example of what an individual, with assistance in this case from friends and family, can achieve.
The following selection of home movie clips were taken while the railway was under construction, and when it was finally operating with fare paying passengers. All the original film is in Kodachrome 25 standard 8mm. The camera used was a Russian Quarz 5.
They have been videoed by a Canon Hi 8 Camcorder connected directly to an ATI All in Wonder Pro Video Capture Card. It was filming the projected image from an Eumig610D cine projector. The original was captured at 354 X 288 pixels AT 25 fps, i.e. PAL Standard. Editing initially was carried out using Ulead 4.0, which came with the card. Later EditStudio 2 has been used for editing.

There is also another short movie from the Leeds area of the day a privately owned loco was sold. The film is of the loco running along the line from the owners back garden.
